Donate to support the preservation of Arms History

The Centre for the Study of Arms History welcomes donations that will help us to complete, complement, or expand our collections. Financial donations are received and administered on CSAH’s behalf by Armament Research Services (ARES). Click HERE to donate!

CSAH also accepts the donation of books, journals, magazines, catalogues, ephemera, and other items that support our mission.

CSAH follows a selective acquisitions policy, with each donation request carefully considered by the relevant Committee(s) and, where appropriate, our Board of Advisors. Any objects acquired by CSAH should have a clear connection with, and be supportive of, CSAH’s mission to serve as the peak international body promoting the study of arms history.

Regrettably, we cannot accept all donations, and we ask that you first contact CSAH to informally discuss the material you may wish to donate. Any item(s) accepted by donation must conform to the following standards:

  1. Relate to CSAH’s mission and its strategic goals;

  2. Meet one or more of CSAH’s acquisition policy aims;

  3. Be received in acceptable condition;

  4. Have established provenance and clear ownership;

  5. Fall within CSAH’s capability to provide adequate storage, conservation, care, and maintenance; and

  6. Be available for CSAH’s use permanently or for as long as the item(s) retains physical integrity or usefulness.

If you are interested in donating items to CSAH, please contact us in the first instance. We are generally able to accept items in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Items in other locations can often be accepted, depending on associated costs. Donor names and other information are permanently associated with donated items, and items may be donated in memory of a loved one or former owner. We are also able to accept certain bequests; contact us for more information.
